Downtown Disney and Family

Rain (in Florida!?) started the day but quickly blew through as we headed to meet up with Celeste's sister, Jan and her fun and crazy friends. They were staying at the Old Key West so we toured the property with them - yes, felt like we were definitely in that Keys' laid back world. Took the ferry with them over to downtown Disney for a delightful lunch at Fulton's - Jan's wonderful treat! Lots of laughter and eating - always a good combo!

Walked off lunch roaming around the three areas of downtown - marketplace for chocolate samples at Ghiradelli's - today's gift was caramel filled chocolate - YUM!! On through the quiet Pleasure Island - so different during the day and finally arriving at the West End. Found Virgin Records closed!?! That was a shock! The wind had picked up so boat transportation was down. This, of course, meant travel on our favorite Disney mode - the bus! Not too bad today as it was quiet, only one detour through Typhoon Lagoon - since it was so very busy there today!! Seven cars in the lot - really!!!

After sending the girls off on their way, it was time for Happy Hour back at the West End - at House of Blues. $2 beer (even Blue Moon!) and half off appetizers. Has got to be the best deal in Disney - wish we had been thirstier and hungrier!!

Time for a respite - enjoyed a movie back in the room and then a quick bite at the restaurant in the lobby - what a little jewel. Very helpful staff and actually the food is surprisingly good. We were able to have our Fettucine Alfredo that we found no longer on the menu in Italy - what's that about? This version proved quite tasty!

Retired early - are we getting old!!?? But several busy days ahead and we're still getting in our groove....
