EPCOT

We've arrived in Orlando! Checked in at the Radisson in Lake Buena Vista near Downtown Disney. Not on Disney property but not too far off the beaten track. Headed to EPCOT and was delayed by a motorcade - yes, VP Biden had rolled in to wish us luck on our new adventure!

We started with Space Ship Earth (enjoy the appropriate video attachment), sped through Test Track before heading to drink and eat our way around the world.

Started with a beer from Norway and decided a pairing with pot stickers from China would be perfect. And, it was. Who knew!? As we made our way into Germany, it was time for another lager. A soft pretzel was the most excellent choice of accompaniment here. As we watched sunset over the rose garden and lagoon, this first day was easing into a beautiful evening.

Time to stroll into Italy for an alfresco dining adventure. Allesandro from Venice was perfect as our host. He brought us each a glass of vino and the most magnificent veal meatballs. This was enhanced with delicious bread and olives. The night air, nearby fountain and piped in Italian music transformed us right into San Marco Square. I was sure we were there!

A continued stroll took us to Morocco for an after dinner coffee. The Tangeriene coffee with orange liqueur was incredible. Just the right thing as the temperature was dropping.

A further peek at french pastries and champagne was, alas, too much. That would need to wait for a future visit. All the final packing and bon voyage festivities had caught up with us, and we were two fading figures. A weary climb up to the waterfalls of Canada to preview an upcoming destination was to be the final excursion for the evening. Even the full moon beckoning over the promised Illuminations show could not keep us on task. No, the time for needed rest had swooped in.

And, this was just fine. Because there is always tomorrow........
