Flowers and Fireworks!

It was our final day at the world and we chose to revisit EPCOT and view the Flower and Garden Show. Our friend, Karen, joined. Thought it was the perfect place to plant our first seed.

It was a beautiful day. Lots of people thought so. What a difference a week makes - three times the people today than last Monday.

We headed out around noon for lunch in Canada. Quiet, leisurely lunch. Celeste ordered the "best" steakburger she had ever eaten. That's quite a statement, as she is certainly a pro when it comes to burgers. I had to have their famous cheddar cheese soup - and was not disappointed.

We stayed in Canada, strolling Victoria Gardens - especially beautiful with all the flowers planted for the festival. Had to view the Oh, Canada! 360-view film - especially since we will be visiting that area in the new future! I can't wait. It looks like such a magnificent area!!

As we headed over to Future World to get a fast pass for Soarin' (unfortunately, they were already gone!), we did find our "perfect" spot for the first seed! Yard Crashers! Each of us planted a perfect sunflower seed (see photos).

It became a day of visiting old haunts and saying goodbye. Journey into Imagination, The Land, Circle of Life, Nemo and Friends and Ellen's Universe of Energy - can't remember the last time I had seen these and it was fun to revisit.

The sun was setting as we crossed the lagoon in the Friendship and headed to France. Had to see my beautiful Impressions in France - love that music! No seats available at either French restaurant for our wine and cheese we had planned. Plan B worked out even better. We were told the Pattisserie served cheese and baguette and we found wine right across the alleyway. As we gathered our "picnic", a table suddenly came open and we sat and ate all of our goodies, sipped our wines and enjoyed the beautiful evening in the streets of France!

A coffee from Morrocco and a pastry from France finished off our delicious dinner as we found a spot for Illuminations. A spectacular show as always. And, as we waited for the park to empty, we took our time exiting. Taking in the peacefulness and beauty that comes over this place at this time of evening has always been a special time for me and tonight proved even more poignant as I realized it may indeed be my final visit here. So glad we took the time to come say goodbye before beginning our amazing adventure. And, especially happy that my dear, dear friend Karen was here with us. A perfect ending for a wonderful week!

  1. So, are you ALLOWED to just plant a seed on Disney property like that? What will they do when a sunflower pops out in their carefully planned garden? Will all your plants be sunflowers, or will you have particular seeds for particular climates?
