Eugene

Today we veer away from the coast to head inland toward Eugene and a visit to Celeste's dear friend Becca and her daughter, Cierra. A stop for breakfast at the coastal town of Florence draws us to an interesting find. Hot Rock Grill provides both a fun atmosphere and pretty darned good morning cuisine. We particularly enjoy their hash browns, crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, no grease. Someone in the kitchen knows their potatoes.

The drive from the coast to Eugene is easy and quite beautiful and Celeste is very excited to see her old friends. They are wonderful hosts and in no time the gals are gabbing and getting caught up.

A couple of walks yield abundant wildflowers.

Dinner is prepared by Celeste and Becca, with boyfriend, Scott, looking on eagerly. As we sip wine and chat on the back porch, a deer joins the festivities.

Wine, good food and friends, old and new - this is what it's all about.
