A Bear in the Woods

Our trek back down the mountain is just as beautiful, if not more fun. We're getting the hang of these little vehicles and as we head to the lodge for a fish fry, we've worked up a good little appetite. Upon our arrival, our guide's partner, Gary, has been preparing our feast while we've been playing, and what a feast it is!

The lodge is warm from the fire. Our meal of smoked chicken, fresh fried halibut, roasted potatoes, slaw and cornbread is out of this world delicious. Certainly, the best meal we've had since beginning our little venture out here. The fish is perfect! And, as it's being fried right out the back of the lodge on the deck, other "guests" head our way for a chance at a nibble as well.

We are blessed with both a black and grizzly sighting here and, from the safety of our little lodge, can fully enjoy the encounter without fear. What a show!

We can't believe the afternoon we're having. Weather clearing, really fun people on our tour, great rides, magnificent scenery, tremendous food, wonderful guides and now the ultimate wildlife!

Everyone should get a chance to have an Alaska adventure like this!!!

  1. LOVE THE BEARS! ! !
Celeste, I trust that was a terrific telescopic lens you were using? What a sight and what an opportunity!

So glad the Weather Witch was working, too. But what else would you expect!
