Two young 50-something females. One big adventure exploring the Americas. Have liquidated everything they own and packed a Saturn Vue with bare necessities to set out on this journey. Planting seeds at each juncture symbolizing their new growth. With an open mind and heart, ready to get a true view of this world.

50 Never Looked So Good!

Turning 50 on an adventure like we are taking seems somewhat anticlimactic when the official day arrives. What to do? As opposed to what we've been doing?!? Well, Rehoboth Beach has provided the perfect backdrop for Celeste.

The horses premiered the day prior and the actual day is put aside for pure relaxation. The spa adjacent to the Inn transports the two of us into bliss with heavenly massages. It was important that I share in the experience, as well. I didn't want to be a spoil sport!

After a day of total leisure, our last day in Delaware takes us for one final excursion. Cape Henlopen State Park has a bit of everything. A beautiful beach(we walk for miles without signs of life - the way we like it!) an observation tower from WWII (Celeste does climb and takes great pics here, as well), a nature center, and yes, more deer. The docile animals dot the fields everywhere in this neck of the woods.

We love Rehoboth and this area. It has been the perfect place to celebrate the big event! Our sunflower planting is successful and it's time to say goodbye to this pretty little state. A ferry to New Jersey is next!!!

  2. MY BEST BUD FROM LONGWOOD, SUSAN WALL LIVES IN REHOBETH BEACH. HER OFFICE IS RIGHT ON THE MAIN STREET WHERE THE GAZEBO IS--A FEW BLOCKS FROM THE BOARDWALK. SHE WOULD HAVE LOVED TO MEET YA'LL AND SHOW OFF HER TOWN.

  3. Another place "without signs of life." This really is becoming a pattern. I totally understand - that's why I work with inanimate objects!

  4. Happy (belated) Birthday Celeste! I agree, there isn't much that can top your adventure as a way to celebrate the big 5-0. I would have sent a card, but ...
