Beaching it in Connecticut

A beautiful morning greets as we wake up in the charming city of New London, a view of a steeple out our window. We take advantage of our indoor pool at the Radisson and get in a little water work out before heading out today. We are joining our dear friend, Doreen Coty, who is staying in Woodmont for a 13-week nursing job in nearby Bridgeport. She has invited us to stay at her little place right on the sound and, as we drive up, a charming deck with colorful adirondack chairs welcomes. We settle into our weekend getaway awaiting our friend. Such serenity.

Doreen takes us on a beautiful little hike along the sound, views of gorgeous homes facing the water. It is New England personified. A stop for a quick cocktail midway sets the tone for the upcoming weekend fun! Sun is just beginning to set as we make our retreat and beautiful swans swim now in the cove by our home.

A quick bite down the road introduces us to full bellied clams - yum! And, with our own full bellies, we retire soon after. A trip to NYC is on the agenda for tomorrow!!!
